| West Chiltington Res vs TD Shipley III | |||||
|
West Chiltington Reserves suffered penalty heartbreak in the Division 4 Cup as they lost 2-0 on penalties at home to TD Shipley's third team after 120 minutes of hard fought action ended in a 2-2 draw. Chilt took an early lead from Lea Durant but the visitors quickly levelled matters after a defensive mix up. Luke Appleton soon restored Chilt's advantage when he latched onto a long through ball and finished expertly from a tight angle only for Chilt to gift Shipley a second equaliser just before the break after a mistake by the home keeper. The hosts went closest to winning the game when Lea Durant hit the bar from 25 yards and then his brother Ryan forced a great save with the last kick of normal time. Neither side looked like snatching an extra time winner and Shipley won through to the next round in the shoot out after Chilt missed all four of their kicks. |
