| Lower Beeding vs West Chiltington | |||||
|
West Chiltington came flying out of the blocks in Saturday's Division 1 league game at Lower Beeding, scoring two goals in the first eight minutes to effectively kill the game off. Midfielder Dan Andrews scored the first, firing into the roof of the net from close range, after the home defence had failed to clear a long throw into the goalmouth from Scott Wolters. Minutes later striker Ryan Ashley scored Chilt's 2nd and his 11th of the season forcing the ball home at the far post from a Ritchie Franklin corner. Unfortunately Chilt then went on cruise control making little of their giant's share of possession and Lower Beeding increasing came into the game although the Chilt keeper, Andy Barclay, was rarely troubled. A halftime gee-up immediately saw super sub Adam Shipton in his first start of the season score Chilt's 3rd when he rounded two defenders and fired home for the best goal of the game. Lower Beeding scored a well deserved consolation goal right at the death to spoil Chilt's defence a rare clean sheet. |
