|
West Chiltington reserves produced their best performance of the season as they progressed to the next round of the Tony Kopp Cup with a 2-0 win at Barns Green. Chilt took control of the game from the start and they stormed into a two goal lead at the break through an early strike from Chris Garlick and then a stunning effort from Ryan Durant who noticed the keeper off his line and netted from the half way line. The hosts did improve in the second period after a half time roasting from their manager but the visitors defended stoutly and with keeper Alex Goodman in commanding form, Chilt held on comfortably to progress through to the next round. Manager Brian Holden was a delighted man at the finish. "Any win over a club from a higher division is a bit special but I thought we were outstanding all over the pitch today and we thoroughly deserved this victory. We now need to keep up that level of performance week in and week out in the league." |
