I was stationed in the Maldives in 1970 when RAF Gan was leased from the Maldives as a Staging Post between the UK and the Far East. I always hoped to return and in 2005 we went to Bandos for a holiday and I tried to get a day excursion. Unfortunately, it never happened. We had planned on going back to Bandos in 2006 but ended up at Equator Village Gan for two weeks instead. Equator Village doesn’t offer quite the same level of luxury as Bandos but it has many redeeming features. My video explains all.
As for cost, even taking into account the additional airfares, All Inclusive at Equator Village was significantly less expensive than Half Board on Bandos |
