Dry Stane Dyking
Scotston Organic Farm

Here we are rebuiding Dry Stane Dykes (dry stone walls). They are great places for wildlife to live and are an attractive countryside feature. Rebuilding them takes time and skill. It is an ancient craft which is satisfying to learn and develop.

Rhododendrons were introduced into our wild forests by the Victorians. They smother native plants and have little value for wildlife.

We are removing them from Craighall gorge woodland (a SSSI) and reducing them at Alyth.

Top secret SSSI

The only home in Scotland of the Greater Yellow Rattle. Dundee Conservation Volunteers are removing invasive garden escapes to help this flower re-colonise.
