CHRISTMAS CONCERT
13th DECEMBER 2003... The Choir led by Fergus Black,were joined by local instrumentalists 'In Nomine' leader - Anne Dales and the Organist was Roy Phillips.
Work included many well known Christmas pieces such as the lovely John Rutter work -Shepherd's Pipe Carol
The main work of the first half was from Marc-Antoine Charpentier's - Messe De Minuit pour Noel.
After coffee and a mince pie,the second half included part of Corelli's Christmas Comcerto, performed by 'In Nomine' and a well mixed Christmas Pudding - stirred by Jonathan Willcocks and sang by the choir!
Extracts of no less than 23 Christmas Carol's in 4 minutes!
The choir finale piece, was a charming little Ukranian Carol - The Bells.
AUTUMN CONCERT
1ST NOVEMBER 2003
The choir performed 16 pieces of music from ranging from the 13th to the 20th Century at Zion Methodist Church, Brothertoft Road
Boston. The music was interspersed with poetry. The choir sang songs in English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish language dialects! Works included Vaughan Williams 'Five Mystical Songs' (Baritone solo Jonathan Jessop)and also Stanford's 'Heraclitus'.
The welsh pieces were 'Y bore glas' and 'Llanfair'.
The Scottish songs were 'Ca' the Yowes' and 'Wi a Hundred Pipers'.
'The Ould Lammas Fair' was included as an Irish Air.
The modern work was a Beatles Medley!
The evening ended with a splendid buffet supper!
