The Old Tower 1956-1961

It was found that a better line of site was needed for the radio link with Telephone House, Birmingham.

 

To minimize disruption to service a second dish was mounted in the new position with new feeders

into the PO equipment room. During a break in transmission the new feeders were terminated.

The original (lower dish) was then recovered

When the new mast came into service the old one was rebuilt at Fremont Point on Jersey.
