Three Porges Parodies and a Pastiche

Michael Kean's elusive but brilliant collection of Arthur Porges' Holmesian spoofs was published by Magico Magazine in 1988. In addition to the four stories, the book contains an informative introduction by the editor, a transcription of a letter from Frederic Dannay to Arthur Porges, and a rare article by Porges entitled "The Other Works of Arthur Conan Doyle." The pastiche, "The Singular Affair of the Aluminium Crutch," was first published in this volume.

This limited edition volume was published in 2002 by Ash-Tree Press. Edited by Mike Ashley, it contains twenty-eight of Porges' weird and supernatural stories, most of them drawn from the pages of old magazines. The book also includes the previously unpublished story "Swamp Demon," in addition to rare stories such as "The Man Who Wouldn't Eat" and Arthur Porges' first published story "Modeled in Clay." With a foreword by Mike Ashley and a fascinating introduction provided by the author himself, this book comes highly recommended.

With a stunning cover painting by the late Ron Turner, Eight Problems in Space collects together all of Arthur Porges' legendary Ensign De Ruyter tales. Both ingenious and exciting, this book will delight fans of stories that feature a traditional "scientific puzzle." Seven of these tales, long out-of-print, have been culled from the pages of Amazing Stories and Fantastic Stories magazines. The final story in the collection is the previously unpublished "Brain Slug."

Editor Richard Simms has teamed up with The Battered Silicon Dispatch Box to compile a definitive collection of Arthur Porges' Sherlockian writings. Contained in this book are the four stories collected in Michael Kean's earlier compilation Three Porges Parodies and a Pastiche (1988), as well five additional parodies originally published from 2001 to 2004. The superb volume includes an introduction by Sherlock Holmes enthusiast Michael Kean and a wonderful cover by Paul Churchill.
