Intimate Diplomacy Tournament

ALB & GSB is only hosting this tournament & one of the aspects of it is that players are only invited to play but by the organisers of the tournament.

Intimate Diplomacy (ID) is a two-player game based on Diplomacy, where each player takes ONE of the seven major powers of the regular game. Players earn 'credits' according to the number of supply centres held at the end of the Autumn season. The players then use these credits to bid for control of the remaining five great powers for one game year at a time.

You can express your interest by e-mailing Carl Hanich but before you sent, note that to stop Carl getting 'Spam' e-mails, I've replaced @ with AT, which means you must do that in reverse.

IDII started in autumn 2007 & is still underway however on the 18th April, Carl wrote the following:

Although the final and seventh round has just started, Ally Bain’s loss in Round 6 to Lawrence McDonald has resulted in Kester winning the Tournament after Richard Hucknall won the inaugural Tournament last year. Kester has won 5 games and drawn one after six rounds for 11 competition points. Going into the final round Ally Bain in second position has 4 wins for 8 points. Ally is playing Kester in the final round but a win will still see him 1 competition point short. Should Kester win, he will remain undefeated in the Tournament something that wasn’t achieved in IDI!

So congratulations to Kester, he has dominated the Tournament right from the beginning. He may find it tough in IDIII as Richard did in IDII as his opponents will undoubtable be keeping their strong powers when playing him.

Also, congratulations to Ally who was an ID rookie having never played ID before. Should he win against Kester in Round 7, he will come second. Richard, last year’s champion may come 4th unless Brian Frew wins his final round to sneak into 4th position.

There is still one Round 5 game being played. Once it has concluded, I will put up the Round 5 summary.
