Eating and Drinking

One thing you wont have problem finding in Sa Coma is somewhere to eat and have a drink. Unfortunately, being a tourist resort most of the restaurants serve the usual non-traditional food. If you take a stroll however along the promanade and into S'lliot you will find smaller more traditional bars. One of particular note is "Willy's" which is situated right on the edge of the coast overlooking the bay of S'lliot and serves great sea food. Click on an image to enlarge:

Juans Steak House (www.juanssteakhouse.com)
Location: Approx 5 minutes walk into the resort up the main road from the beach. Opposite the Kings Head pub.

Juans Steak House has an open kitchen and offers chunky chips, steaks and some very nice chicken dishes. We eat here regulalry and its a nice spot to sit and watch the world go by. Luckily the outdoor eating area has a canopy so you wont get wet should the odd rain shower creep up on you! We sat here one night watching thunderstorms while eating, it was very cozy! The White Lion (www.whitelionsacoma.com)
Location : Just down from Capbrabo supermarket. Approx 5 mins from Juans Steak House.

Sometimes overlooked because it is tucked in amongst other restaurants but the White Lion offers probably the biggest value for money in the resort. The portions are huge and the food is fantastic. Air conditioned inside with tv's. The home made desserts are stunning, especially the apple pie. Visit the website for special offers and money off vouchers.

JJ's Family bar and restaurant
Location : Just up from the White Lion, next door to Christies bar and opposite Capbrabo supermarket.

JJ's is one of the most successful family run bars in the resort and is renowned for its food and value for money. Special meal nights every night (such as curry nights) and free bottles of wine with each meal. The menu is varied and is popular with kids. Although there is plenty of seating area the place can get very busy. Inside is a large projection screen tv and fans. Try the pork and lamb - recommended!

Grill La Bodega
Location: about 10 mins up from JJ's restaurant and close to Capbrabo on opposite side of the road

People ask if there are any "romantic" restaurants in Sa Coma. This is one of them, candles on the white table cloths, neatly laid out tables and a good selection of fish dishes and wine. Obviously a little more expensive than the tourist restaurants but worth a visit if you fancy a treat.

Willy's
Location : stand on S'lliot beach and look out towards the sea, the restaurant has tables on the very edge of the coast to the right

I think Willy's is the nickname for this place but if you are in S'lliot its worth a visit. There are a few tables overlooking the beach and give a nice view in the evening for a drink. The main restaurant is then behind. The speciality here are fresh fish dishes. Because of its location and its popularity it is a little more expensive than some of the other restaurants.

Britannia Pub
Location: Opposite Sa Coma Platja. 5 mins walk from the beach.

The Britannia Pub serves food and is one of the late night bars in the resort. Afer midnight the exterior doors close to contain the noise of the music. There is ample seating inside but only a small dance floor. A favorite when there are sporting events on due to the number of tv's in the place!

Kings Head Pub
Location: Just across road from Juans Steak House and near the Vista Badia.

Description: Similar to Britannia pub, the Kings Head serves food until late evening when it becomes a fun pub with music, disco and karaoke. Open until 3am. As with the Britannia bar, the doors outside close at 12am to prevent noise in the resort. Probably the most lit up bar in the resort with all its neons!

Cristies Bar
Location: 1 minute up from The White Lion and opposite Caprabo supermarket.

Description: Another family run established bar in Sa Coma. Open in the evenings until late for drinks. Has numerous TV screens, large screen, pool table, video games etc. Nightly entertainment consists of a quiz and super quiz with prizes of wine and champagne for the winners. A friendly relaxed place to drink and watch the world go by. Drinks are good prices usually with 2 for 5€ offers.

Porto Cristo - there are some nice restaurants in the resort of Porto Cristo (get a taxi). There is a lovely harbour area and the restaurants line the side. Beware however, many restuarants are located overlooking the beach. These are pricey and the waiters have to cross the busy road to get to the tables and charge extra for this. If you follow the harbour path, admiring all the boats, you will come to a few quieter restaurants, visited more by the Spanish, which serve lovely food and are cheaper.

S'lliot - follow the promanade between Sa Coma and S'lliot and you will find lots of restaurants lining the path with tables overlooking the sea. A nice spot to watch the sunset.
